🚨 Fraud Alert: Be Aware of Phone & Email Scams 🚨

The Peoples Bank has been made aware of scammers spoofing our phone number and calling customers in an attempt to obtain personal and financial information. These calls may appear to come from The Peoples Bank, but they are not from us.

We have also received reports of fraudulent emails claiming that your online banking password has been reset, even though no password change was requested. These emails may include a link asking you to take action.

Please remember:
🔒 The Peoples Bank will never call, text, or email you to ask for:
• Online banking passwords
• One-time verification codes
• Debit card numbers
• Card expiration dates
• CVV/security codes
• PINs or other sensitive personal information

If you receive a suspicious phone call, text, or email:
✅ Do not provide any information.
✅ Do not click on links or open unexpected attachments.
✅ Hang up or delete the message.
✅ Contact The Peoples Bank directly at 812-358-4000 or by visiting one of our branches.

Scammers often try to create a sense of urgency to pressure you into acting quickly. If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts and contact us directly before taking any action.

The Peoples Bank is proud to support the Maverick Minute Foundation as a Title Sponsor with a $2,500 contribution.

This sponsorship originated through Leadership Jackson County, where our own Lauren Spencer worked alongside fellow class members on a Community Awareness & Growth project. Their group chose to partner with the Maverick Minute Foundation to help spread its powerful message: Pause. Inspect. Protect.

The Maverick Minute Foundation was created in honor of Maverick Flinn and Nancy "Nanny" Fox and is dedicated to promoting safety awareness and education throughout rural communities. Funds from this sponsorship will help expand safety education and awareness initiatives, including the upcoming Touch-A-Truck Event at the Jackson County Fair on Wednesday, July 29, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. Families and children will have the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, construction equipment, farm machinery, and more while learning important safety lessons about heavy equipment and vehicle blind spots.
