I’m heading to Washington D.C. tomorrow! I’m so honored to be representing Colorado as a FirstHomeIQ Ambassador at the MBA National Advocacy Conference.
This Tuesday and Wednesday, I’ll be walking the halls of Capitol Hill alongside FirstHomeiQ and other amazing mortgage professionals from across the country. We’ll be meeting with members of Congress and their teams to talk about something that impacts lives so deeply: Homeownership.
I’ll get to meet with Colorado’s elected officials and their staffers, not as a lobbyist, but as a mortgage advisor who gets to talk with families every day. Families that are working hard, doing everything right, and still feeling like homeownership is out of reach. And so many others that are ready and just needed someone to tell them so, believe in them, and walk alongside them. This is what I get to do every day and what I’m bringing with me – real life stories that policymakers need to hear.
8 in 10 Gen Z and Millennials still say homeownership is essential to "making it." The dream hasn't faded. The pathway has just gotten harder to find.
I believe every American should be able to plan for homeownership, not just hope for it. That's why I'm going. That's what I'll carry into those rooms.
If there's something you wish a lawmaker understood about what it actually feels like to try to buy a home right now, tell me. I'm listening. And I'll bring it with me.
