The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) revealed late Friday that base monthly premiums for Part B will be $202.90, up from $185 in 2025.

In addition, the Part B deductible will rise to $283, up from $257 in 2025.

CMS said in the announcement that the increase accounts for "projected price changes and assumed utilization increases that are consistent with historical experience."

The agency also said actions taken to reduce spending around skin substitutes in the Physician Fee Schedule averted an additional $11 premium increase. Skin substitute products are bioengineered materials or biological dressings used to cover wounds and facilitate the repair and regeneration of damaged skin, either temporarily or permanently. They are used as an adjunct to standard wound care for complex wounds that have failed to heal with conventional treatments.

Deductibles for hospital stays are also increasing in traditional Medicare, per the release. The deductible owed for an inpatient stay in 2026 will be $1,736, up from $1,676 in 2025.

The Part A deductible covers the first 60 days of inpatient hospital care. Most Medicare beneficiaries with Medicare Supplement plans do not pay this deductible as it is paid by the plan.
