✨ Meet Jamie Oswald, Surgical Case Review Specialist

Jamie’s journey is a great example of growth fueled by curiosity and dedication. She first started entering bill sheets through a third-party contractor in 2017, officially joined Kermit’s Data Entry team in 2023, and was promoted to the Case Review team in 2024.

What drew Jamie to healthcare technology? The details. From learning the components of trauma and spine cases to mastering the nuances of surgical case review, she thrives in an environment where learning never stops.

What keeps her energized every day? Her teammates — the collaboration and support of the people she works with are a huge part of why she loves what she does.

Outside of work, Jamie is a true outdoors enthusiast and a hands-on builder. She enjoys anything that gets her (and her dogs) outside and loves woodworking — she even built the desk she works at today to celebrate her promotion at Kermit.

Looking ahead, Jamie is excited about the future of Kermit alongside Meperia and Genesis and the growth opportunities this connected platform brings.

🔢 CaseSnap Tip of the Month: Patient Identifiers — Accuracy Matters

Always enter patient MRN and CSN/FIN numbers exactly as shown on the patient label — letters and numbers included.

If the hospital also requires inclusion of the HAR number or Surgical Schedule Case IDs, be sure to enter those exactly as displayed as well.

-No abbreviations
-No assumptions
-No shortcuts

When in doubt, ask. Accurate data ensures faster processing, fewer corrections, and better outcomes for everyone.

For the past four and a half years, he’s transformed how we leverage data—rolling out real-time operational reporting, building our enterprise data warehouse on Snowflake, and pairing it with Tableau to turn fragmented spreadsheets into scalable, insight-rich systems.

Drawn to the complexity and impact of the Bill-Only space, Steve is energized by collaboration and driven to deliver clarity where hospitals need it most. His mission: make data speak—providing actionable intelligence that prevents fires instead of fighting them.

Off the clock? You’ll find him in the gym, playing pickleball, with family, or binge-watching & falling asleep in his favorite recliner.
