Young people can face challenges at school, at home and with friends that may feel overwhelming. Having a trusted adult who listens, checks in and takes their feelings seriously can make a difference.
Parents, caregivers and other trusted adults can help by:
• Making time for open, judgment-free conversations
• Paying attention to changes in mood or behavior
• Reminding young people that asking for help is a sign of strength
• Connecting them with support when they need it
This month, take time to check in with the young people in your life. A simple conversation can remind them they are heard, supported and never alone.
If you or someone you know needs immediate emotional support or is experiencing a suicidal crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
