🔐 : Protect Your Online Accounts 🔐

Many of us have accounts for shopping, social media, and banking—but if one is compromised, the impact can be serious.

Cybercriminals use tactics like stolen passwords, phishing emails, and malware to take over accounts and steal identities.

✅ Stay protected:
• Use strong, unique passwords for every account
• Consider a password manager
• Enable multi factor authentication
• Be cautious with links, emails, and online quizzes
• Watch for unusual activity and set up account alerts

A little awareness goes a long way in keeping your accounts safe. 💙

If you've got a lot of online accounts, this one's for you! Learn how to protect yourself from online account takeovers today!

🚨 Scam of the Week: Don’t Let Malware Crash Your Party! 🎉💻

Beware of fake email invitations pretending to be from Punchbowl, a popular site for digital cards and event invites. These emails may look real and even tell you to click a link or open it on a laptop or desktop for the “best experience.”

❗ Here’s the catch: It’s a phishing scam. You weren’t invited to an event, and the email isn’t from Punchbowl. Clicking the link can download malware onto your device, giving scammers access to your personal information.

🛡️ Protect yourself with these tips:
✔️ Check the sender’s email address. If it’s a personal or strange-looking address, it’s fake.
✔️ Be cautious of unusual instructions, like being told which device to use.
✔️ Don’t click links in unexpected emails—always stop and verify first.

If something feels off, trust your instincts and report suspicious emails. Staying alert helps keep your information safe! 🔒

🚨 Scam of the Week: A Pointless Smishing Scam 🚨
Have you received a text saying your reward points are about to expire? 📱 It might claim to be from your bank or mobile provider and warn that you have thousands of points disappearing in just a few days—unless you click a link right now.

⚠️ This is a smishing (text phishing) scam!
If you tap the link, you’ll be taken to a fake website designed to look legitimate. Once there, you’re asked to enter login credentials or banking details to “claim” your rewards. Any information you provide goes straight to cybercriminals.

✅ How to protect yourself:
• 🔗 Don’t click links in texts claiming your rewards are expiring. Instead, check your account using the company’s official app or website.
• ⏰ Be cautious of urgent language like “expiring soon” or “act now.” Scammers rely on pressure to make you click without thinking.
• 🚫 Don’t reply to suspicious messages. Responding can confirm your number is active. Report the message to your mobile provider instead so they can help block similar scams.

Stay alert and don’t let fake rewards cost you real money! 💙

🚨 Scam of the Week: Don’t Talk to Strangers! 🚨

Have you gotten a text from an unknown number that says something like, “Are we still on for dinner?” 🍽️ It may seem harmless, and you might want to reply to let them know they have the wrong number—but don’t.

This is a common scam tactic. That “wrong number” text is often sent by a cybercriminal trying to start a conversation. Once you reply, they’ll continue chatting to build your trust. Eventually, the conversation turns to money—asking for gift cards, pitching a cryptocurrency investment, or trying to collect your personal information.

No matter how friendly they seem, the goal is always the same: to take your money or steal your data.

✅ How to protect yourself:
• 🔒 Never share personal or financial information with someone you’ve only communicated with through text messages—even if they claim to need help or offer an “opportunity.”
• 🚫 Don’t reply to suspicious texts from unknown numbers. Responding lets scammers know your number is active and may lead to more scam attempts.
• 📵 Mark the message as spam or junk using your phone’s settings. This helps your carrier block similar messages for others, too.

Stay alert. Stay safe. And remember—when in doubt, don’t reply! 💙

🎒💰 That’s a wrap on another great In-School Savings Bank season! 💰🎒

NSB is proud to celebrate a successful year of our In-School Savings Banks at all three of our partner schools. Throughout the school year, students learned the value of saving, setting goals, and building smart financial habits—one deposit at a time! Between all three schools, 290 students deposited into their in-school savings account, and $15,346 was saved in the 2025-2026 school year! 🤩

Thank you to the students, school staff, and families who helped make this program such a great experience. We’re inspired by the enthusiasm and dedication we see every year and can’t wait to be back next school year to keep growing strong saving habits in our communities.

👏 Way to go, super savers—we’re so proud of you!
