🚨 SCAM ALERT: Screen Share, Beware! 🚨

Have you received a text or phone call claiming there's suspicious activity on your bank account? Stop and think before you respond!

Scammers are posing as bank employees and asking customers to switch to FaceTime and share their screen while logging into online banking. If you share your screen, criminals can see your usernames, passwords, account numbers, and even security verification codes, giving them access to your accounts.

🛑 Protect Yourself:
✅ Hang up and contact your bank directly using the phone number listed on their official website or the back of your debit card.
✅ Never share your screen with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
✅ Be suspicious of unusual requests, such as switching to FaceTime or another video app to discuss your account.
✅ Never provide login credentials or security codes to anyone.

🚨 Scam Alert: “This Job Won’t Work” 🚨

Have you received a text from a “recruiter” offering a remote job that pays $250–$500 per day for just 60–90 minutes of work, 4 days a week? If so, be careful—it could be a scam!

Cybercriminals are targeting job seekers with fake job offers that seem too good to pass up. These scammers may even assign small tasks to make the opportunity appear legitimate. Eventually, they’ll ask for your personal or financial information as part of the “hiring process.” Unfortunately, any information you provide goes directly to the scammers.

✅ Protect yourself with these tips:
• Trust your instincts if something feels off. Legitimate recruiters typically won’t contact you unexpectedly from a personal email address.
• Be cautious of jobs with vague descriptions, unusually high pay, and very little work required.
• Don’t let urgency pressure you into acting quickly. Take time to verify the opportunity before responding.

We've been made aware of fraudulent text messages like the one shown below claiming there is a problem with an Apple Pay transaction.

These messages are designed to create panic and convince recipients to call a phone number or provide personal information.

Protect yourself by:
✔️ Not calling the phone number provided in the message
✔️ Not clicking links from unexpected texts or emails
✔️ Verifying account activity directly through your bank, credit card company, or the official app or website
✔️ Never sharing passwords, PINs, security codes, or account information

If you receive a message like this, delete it and report it as spam.

🏎 One of the many community events NSB employees proudly support is the Sandhills Open Road Challenge (SORC) Lunch at the Callaway Community Center, sponsored by the Callaway Chamber of Commerce.

Each year, NSB employees join other community volunteers to serve lunch to SORC competitors and teams, their families, and fans. We are honored to have helped organize and support both this event and the SORC race for many years through volunteer efforts, financial contributions, and plenty of helping hands. 💙

🚨 Scam Alert: A File From a “Friend” 🚨

Think twice before opening unexpected files—even from someone you know! Cybercriminals can take over trusted WhatsApp accounts and send malicious attachments that look like legitimate documents.

⚠️ Opening the file could install malware that gives scammers remote access to your device and personal information.

✅ Stay safe:
• Verify unexpected files with the sender through a separate method.
• Be suspicious of documents that seem out of character for the person sending them.

🚨 Scam Alert: "Your iCloud Storage Is Full" Could Be a Phishing Scam! 🚨

Have you received an email claiming your iCloud storage is full and that your photos and files will be deleted unless you upgrade immediately? Don't fall for it!

Cybercriminals are sending fake Apple iCloud storage warnings designed to create panic and pressure you into acting quickly. These emails often include a link to a fraudulent website where you're asked to enter payment information to "upgrade" your storage. Once entered, your financial information can be stolen.

✅ Stay Safe with These Tips:
🔹 Never click links in unexpected emails about your account or storage. Instead, check your storage directly through your device settings.
🔹 Be cautious of messages that create a sense of urgency. Scammers often use fear and deadlines to pressure victims into making quick decisions.

🚨 Scam Alert: No Call? Good Call! 🚨

You receive what appears to be a PayPal receipt for a large subscription renewal you don't remember purchasing. The email says you must call a "support" number within 12 hours to dispute the charge. Sounds alarming, right?⚠️ Don't be fooled! This is a phishing scam.

The goal isn't to get you to click a link—it's to get you to call the phone number. Once you do, scammers may pretend to be PayPal support and ask for personal information, banking details, or even request that you install software on your device. Their objective is simple: steal your money or your data.

✅ Protect Yourself:
🔹 Never call phone numbers listed in unexpected invoices or renewal notices.
🔹 Verify charges by logging directly into your PayPal account through the official website or app.
🔹 Be wary of urgent deadlines. Scammers use pressure tactics to make you act before you think.
🔹 Remember: An email doesn't need a suspicious link or attachment to be dangerous. Sometimes the phone number is the scam!

🚨 Scam of the Week: Don’t Fall for a Recall

Did you get an email from “Amazon” about a product recall? Be careful—it could be a phishing scam.

Scammers send vague recall notices with a link to “request a refund.” Clicking it may take you to a fake Amazon login page designed to steal your credentials.

• Don’t click links in recall emails—check directly through the Amazon app or website
