Eleven remarkable local students stepped into the spotlight this week as SCU Credit Union celebrated their hard work, heart, and ambition through its 2026 Scholarship Program. Each student received a $2,500 scholarship, with a total of $27,500 awarded to help support their journey into higher education.

As they begin this next chapter, we wish them continued success and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the years ahead.

After more than 40 years in compliance, our Chief Risk Officer, Bill Moore, is retiring. While Bill's quiet and unassuming demeanor may fool you at first, those who know him best have spent years keeping up with his perfectly timed deadpan quips and dry wit. As a trusted advisor and leader, Bill has helped guide our credit union through regulatory change while championing community involvement through organizations like HESSCO and Meals on Wheels. Now, after a remarkable career, he'll be trading 8:30 a.m. Teams meetings for 8:30 a.m. tee times.

A devoted Patriots season ticket holder, Bill proudly cheered the team through six Super Bowl championships and may argue that his contributions from the stands had just as much impact as a certain quarterback and head coach.

Congratulations, Bill, on a well-earned retirement. Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and sense of humor. We wish you many happy years with family, friends, football, and golf.

Bill's & Mainspring is dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness across Southern Massachusetts through programs that provide emergency and supportive housing, as well as services that help individuals gain skills, find employment, secure housing, and access critical resources. In addition to long-term support, they provide warm meals, clean beds, and essential supplies to those facing housing insecurity, meeting immediate needs while helping people build a path toward a more stable future.
