Before students head out the door this fall, our team at Noble-Reynolds Insurance wants to help families keep safety top of mind. No matter how your child gets to school, a quick refresher can go a long way.
Walking to school?
• Encourage kids to use sidewalks, cross at crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers, and walk in groups when possible.
Riding a bike?
• A well-fitted helmet is a must. Remind students to ride with traffic, stop fully before crossing, and choose routes with lighter traffic.
Taking the bus?
• Students should stay at least 6 feet from the curb, wait for a complete stop before boarding, and avoid walking in front of or behind the bus without making eye contact with the driver.
Getting dropped off?
• Follow school drop-off procedures, obey school zone speed limits, and never pass a bus that’s loading or unloading.
Teen drivers?
• Review safe driving basics: seatbelts for everyone, no devices behind the wheel, and sticking to the speed limit.
We hope these reminders help your family start the school year with confidence. What other safety tips do you share with your kids? Let us know in the comments!
