NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Their annual fundraiser is right around the corner, and they are running into a serious problem—we’re way short on basket raffle donations this year.

The basket raffle is one of the biggest parts of the night. It helps them raise the money they need to keep the gym running and tuition-free for the kids. Without enough baskets, they risk falling short of their goal—and that directly affects the resources and opportunities they can provide.

They’re asking the community—friends, families, local businesses—if you can donate a basket, gift card, or anything they can bundle into a prize, please reach out.

Want to help but don’t have time to put a basket together?
No problem—just reach out to KC Costello and you can make a monetary donation, and she’ll build a basket in your name.

Even a small contribution goes a long way. They will coordinate pickup, or you can drop it off at the gym.

Message them directly if you’re able to help!

If you’ve covered business expenses with personal funds, it’s important to reimburse yourself properly to keep your books accurate.

Here’s how to do it the right way:

First, track every expense by saving receipts and noting what each purchase was for. Keeping detailed records ensures your books stay clean and tax-ready.

Next, record the expense in your accounting software under "Owner Reimbursement" or "Owner’s Contribution" so it’s properly categorized.

Then, pay yourself back using a business check, bank transfer, or payroll (if you’re on salary). Always reference the original expense to maintain clear records.

Finally, keep all documentation in case of an audit. Organized records protect your business and make tax season much smoother.

This process may vary depending on your accounting software, so if you need personalized help, send us a DM or set up a call with us!

If you’re starting from scratch, setup is simple.

But if you’re transferring data from another system, it’s time to bring in the professionals.

Accounting transfers must be handled carefully to ensure everything is transferred correctly, and important transactions aren’t missed, otherwise, you could end up with inaccurate financial records and tax issues.

Using both together can be a great solution, but your bookkeeping should always be handled in a proper accounting system.

A CRM doesn’t track expenses, reconcile accounts, or manage other key financial transactions.

Bottomline: the biggest mistake you can make is relying solely on a CRM for bookkeeping.

If you're using both bookkeeping software and a CRM, which you should, you need a bookkeeper to help keep them separate.

Without proper oversight, transactions can get mixed up, and you may not catch the mistakes that we can.

Not all payment methods are created equal when it comes to tracking expenses and maximizing tax deductions.

Here’s a breakdown of the best options:

- Credit cards are one of the best options because they create a clear record of every transaction, provide monthly statements, and categorize expenses automatically. This makes tracking deductions much easier.

- ACH bank transfers are also a great choice since payments are made directly from a bank account, making them easy to record.

- Debit cards work similarly to ACH transfers but do not offer the same fraud protection or rewards as credit cards.

- On the other hand, checks can be harder to track since they take longer to process and require manual recording.

- Cash is the most difficult to manage for tax purposes. Without proper receipts, it can be nearly impossible to track and claim deductions.

Keeping organized financial records ensures that business expenses are properly accounted for and helps avoid surprises during tax season.

Working with a bookkeeper can make the process even smoother and help ensure everything is tracked correctly!

Scaling your business isn’t just about making more sales, it’s about making sure your cash flow can handle the growth.

Here’s why:

✅ More sales usually mean more expenses i.e. hiring, marketing, software, and inventory.

If cash isn’t flowing right, your business could struggle instead of thrive.

✅ When you know exactly when money is coming in and going out, you can plan ahead, pay bills on time, and avoid financial surprises.

✅ Scaling needs actual cash, not just sales. You need money in the bank to hire, expand, or launch new offers not just unpaid invoices.

Accurate bookkeeping keeps your cash flow in check, helps you manage expenses, and ensures your business is financially prepared for growth.
