Established in 1952, we are a not-for-profit financial cooperative, dedicated to providing our members with the highest level of financial services. Strong and growing, we offer excellent borrowing and savings programs and are dedicated to educating people to be wise consumers and smart money managers. People who join a credit union are called members and they are the institution’s owners. Instead

of paying dividends to a group of stockholders, earnings are returned to members in the form of lower rates and fees, higher savings account rates and expanded services. MEFCU membership is a great benefit that will help you save money! Mountain Empire FCU was organized because a handful of people at Brunswick Corporation believed in an idea and were willing to bring to reality a cooperative financial institution. Now, almost 65 years later, we have a state-of-the-art facility over 4,500 members, and serve a tri-county area.
