Shaping up to be another great day in the "market". Still not back up to the July 15th high of 27,359 but, even at 26,700+, that's almost a 50% above October, 2016!! Some of us remember a similar occurrence in Oct of 2007, right before the "market" dropped close to 40%!!

So, should you continue to "ride the wave" in hope that it continues to go higher or should you capture some of your gains and make a part of your portfolio more secure? The answer may lie in how much time you have, how many other assets you have and what your overall retirement income portfolio looks like.

If you aren't sure or have any questions, I'd be more than happy to speak with you. Even if it's just to get a second opinion.

I meet with a lot of young adults who are trying to get a jump-start on savings and investments to be better prepared for an earlier retirement. A common misconception is they think life insurance is only needed when they get married or start having a family.

If you're young, single and think you don' t need life insurance, you may want to reconsider, especially if you’re paying off student loans.

I've read everything from "a speed-bump on the way up" to "it's the beginning of the end". If you have enough money put away to retire already or you have another 20 years to go...you probably don't need to worry about it right now.

If you or someone you love is retired, within 10 years of retiring or may just be a bit behind on the way there...you should probably talk to someone! There are strategies that can be used to alleviate some, if not all, of the risk.
