Different companies have different endorsements that can add features you might like in a Property policy. Some will include sewage backup damage and cover your expensive or rare items from theft or fire as long as you catalog them. Others will offer Food spoilage benefits when food is lost due to a power outage. Much like GEICO offers towing benefits if your car breaks down, your Property policy has unique benefits too. Cybercrimes, stolen data/PC, or ID theft can be covered and even cover stolen items from your car that your auto policy will never cover. This is the benefit of packaged policies too.

When was the last time you checked your Homeowner's policy against other insurance companies that may have better features for the same or less cost? For instance, is your wind peril deductible 2% or 5%? The truth is wind peril coverage used to have a flat $1000 to $2,500 deductible but this changed when hurricanes and even tornadoes made landfall in NY. Now, the standard deductible is either 2% or 5% of the total coverage amount. So if you have a $300,000 policy with a 5% deductible, the deductible is 5% of $300,000 or $15,000.
