I told someone recently, "This will probably be my last year coaching."

Their response: "I don't buy it. It's in your blood."

From coaching or assisting with baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, football, even soccer for a game or 2, I've just wanted to help my kids and their teammates get better. I want to educate them to become better versions of their current selves and improve to reach a goal.

And, I realized, that's part of the reason I love being a financial advisor. Maybe you're not as skilled or knowledgeable as you want to be. Maybe you know where you want to go but not how to get there. Maybe you just need some coaching.

This is where I can keep my passion for educating others and helping them improve, long after my kids grow out of earshot of Coach Dad.
