What a wonderful message we received on our door this morning from Grace Community Fellowship, a local church here in our community. It’s a reminder that even in difficult times we are all here to support each other. Let us hope that 2021 will be a year of encouragement and success for all of us.

UPDATE- Tuesday, Feb. 16th. Our Brenham office remains closed at this time. Our phone lines are down and we are still experiencing power outages which are affecting our internet services. Our staff is still working remotely from home as they are able, with their own outages at home. They will be checking and responding to emails as they are able/have service. The best way to communicate with our office is still through email at this time.
We know that this may be an inconvenience for all, but are doing what we can manage in this unprecedented event.

Out of an abundance of safety, our office will be closed tomorrow. We will reevaluate daily this week and remain closed until it is safe to commute to the office. It will not be possible to forward our phones until we are able to get to the office, however, our staff will be available by email and working from home. If you should suffer a loss from this winter storm, you can report a claim directly to your insurance carrier. Their claim information will be listed in your policy. We apologize for any inconvenience during this time and assure you as soon as we are able, we will return to normal operations.

Don't forget! This Sunday, November 1st we will set our clocks back one hour. It is also the time of year when we need to change those smoke detector batteries and check those fire extinguishers! Did you know, several insurance policies carry an endorsement requiring protective safeguards? This means you as the homeowner/property owner will have maintained and functioning smoke detectors and fire extinguishers on your premises. For many larger property owners, you may be required to keep a log of your maintenance of these items. Make it easy on yourself and get aligned with the time changes each year. It's a simple reminder than can save you!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Jack) Duffy. Jack was a leader and an integral part of our agency, forming the original agency, Mid-Continental Insurance Agency, Inc. in Houston in 1966. When he sold the original agency in 2011 to his children, it was well known that he wouldn’t be able to retire. Since then he had remained by our side being our guide, leader, mentor, and the most friendly voice on the phone with clients. Being a family owned and operated agency, this hits very hard. We appreciate your patience with us during this difficult time, but most importantly, your thoughts and prayers.
Our agency will be closed on Thursday, August 13th and Friday August 14th to attend Jacks services.
