Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: James LeRoy

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: James LeRoy I'm proud to say I grew up experiencing life without many resources. I grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and was raised with Midwestern values.

I saw firsthand what life was like when there wasn't enough money to cover current expenses, let alone retirement. Now my life is very different, and it came down to embracing financial literacy along with an intentional change in the way I think about money. I became a financial
advisor because I enjoy relating to others and helping them understand their options so they can reach all their financ

ial goals. My life changed when the girl of my dreams walked through the door at the local Dairy Queen. I was somehow charming enough to date her for a couple years before we started our life together. I joined the military and the Air Force moved us to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where we set down roots and started our family. Serving in the military reinforced how important processes, high standards and discipline were to my success. As I worked my
way through college, working with numbers came natural to me and I earned a double major in accounting and finance from Saint Martin's University. As my career went along, I
earned my MBA from Seattle University and transitioned to roles that were client-facing. I found I was eager to learn what makes each of my clients unique and what's important to them, and how I could personalize strategies to help achieve their goals. Our family grew and we have four wonderful sons along with an Australian Labradoodle. As for hobbies, I love sports or travelling to a warm sandy beach, or heading up to the mountains. I look forward to working with clients who share my values, clients who want someone in their corner as they navigate life, and clients who have a long-term approach to investing. If
that's you, I would love to learn more about you where I can hear both your dreams and your worries. You can reach me at 360-373-6939 or [email protected].

As investors look beyond Middle East tensions, U.S. economic fundamentals are coming into sharper focus, driven by an accelerating AI investment and robust corporate profit growth, reinforcing the constructive case for equities. However, elevated inflation may keep rate cuts off the table and limit near-term progress in bond markets.

Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

I recently had the privilege of speaking with several dozen students at West Sound Tech, and I left incredibly inspired.

Some are planning to join the local Shipyard. Others are pursuing careers as welders through nearby unions. And some are studying cosmetology with aspirations of becoming business owners. The ambition and direction they already have is impressive.

Our conversation centered on the opportunities ahead as they enter the workforce—especially the potential for their income growth to outpace their expenses if they build strong financial habits early. We talked about simple but powerful concepts like “paying yourself first”—automatically setting aside 20% for savings and learning to live on the remaining 80%.

We also discussed the importance of emergency savings, explored employer benefits they may encounter, and walked through options for those planning to run their own businesses. The level of curiosity and thoughtfulness in their questions stood out—and many already have jobs lined up after graduation.

Moments like this are especially meaningful to me. I still remember being 19, serving in the military, doing everything I could to set aside $200 a month to start a Roth IRA. I came across a comparison showing the difference between starting early versus waiting just 10 years—and it made a lasting impression that ultimately shaped my financial path.

If I was able to make even a small difference for one student today, then it was time well spent. The future is bright for this next generation, and I’m honored to play a small role in helping them get started.

For those who know someone just beginning their financial journey—or even needing a refresher—here’s a great free resource from Edward Jones:

And if you have questions about your own financial journey, the message I shared with the students is the same one I’ll share here: there are no dumb questions—we all start somewhere.

Long-distance relationships are becoming more commonplace in today's technologically advanced world. However, be wary of sending money, especially if you've never met in person. A scammer can prey on your emotional state and take advantage of your trust, generosity and goodwill.
