Covered CA- Health Insurance Plans: If your household income has been affected by COVID-19 we strongly urge you to contact our office as soon as possible. This way your deferred tax credit may be adjusted and could help offset your out of pocket monthly costs.

As details related to the COVID-19 pandemic are changing seemingly every hour. City Drive Insurance has been working around the clock to prepare our staff in order to better assist you during these times. In an effort to keep you updated, we wanted to share with you how we are responding to these demands with some pertinent coverage information.

COVERAGE:

Understandably, we have received a significant number of inquiries regarding coverage. Here is a quick review pertinent coverage, however, please keep in mind each claim presents different facts that must be considered.

Loss of Income: There is no coverage for loss of income due to the virus. In general, this coverage is triggered by a “direct physical loss or damage” to covered property.

Workers Compensation: This coverage can be triggered for Employees who can prove they contracted the virus while conducting work related activities. The obvious difficulty will be proving the virus was contracted during work.

Employment Practices Liability: If you plan on lay-offs we advise purchasing Employment Practices Liability coverage prior to commencing with the layoffs to address potential wrongful termination lawsuits.

CASH FLOW:

If you anticipate drastic changes to your rating factors such as sales or payroll, please contact us as it may be possible to update you policy to reflect more accurate estimates. Please keep in mind, some policies may not be adjustable and/or have short rate penalties for cancellation.


There is no doubt the next few weeks will be a challenge. Efforts to control the spread of the virus have and will continue to wreak havoc on our society and way of life. There is also no doubt we as a society will get through this. City Drive Insurance will be here for you throughout and we will be here to support you in any way we can.
