Turning 65 soon? Medicare enrollment does not have to feel overwhelming.
Your Initial Enrollment Period generally lasts seven months: the three months before your 65th birthday month, your birthday month, and the three months after. Enrolling early can help your coverage start when you need it.
A few important things to know:
• Some people are enrolled in Original Medicare automatically, while others need to sign up.
• If you are still working and have employer coverage, your timing may be different.
• Delaying enrollment without other qualifying coverage can lead to gaps in coverage or late-enrollment penalties.
• Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D, and dental plans each play a different role in your coverage.
At SoCal Benefits, I provide personalized Medicare guidance for people in Brea and throughout Southern California—so you can understand your options and enroll with confidence.
