This poem was written in 1915. Over 110 years later and there is still no magic spell, pill, or bus that can get us through the hard times life takes us through. As a millennial I choose to think of the hard moments, hard years, or even hard feelings as the Swamps of Sadness from The Never Ending Story. Atreyu pushed through, lost his best friend and almost gave in. He didn't though. I choose to do the same. I will continue to high step through the muck and slime to get to the other side because I know it will be beautiful and wondrous. Whether it is a swamp of sadness, madness, or some other swamp between you and where you want to be, keep going. Push to the end. It will be worth it.

Cyber insurance is one of the most overlooked insurances out there. At least in my opinion. We do so much online. We share our lives, our most intimate moments on social media. We make purchases, we play games. We even link our cards and bank accounts to our phones without a second thought. Even our health data is all online. $302,000/ second or 28.8 Billion (with a b)/ day is what cyber crime costs the people of the world in direct or indirect losses. The average cost of one cybercrime incident can range from $10,000-$20,000. Just one! With so much of our personal information online these days, we should consider cyber insurance as one of the mandatory insurances alongside auto and life insurance.

I was getting my oil changed today and realized how I have never addressed vehicle maintenance. Poor upkeep on your vehicle may rarely cause an accident. But bald tires, thin breaks and warped rotors can attribute to severity of a claim. And even result in Claim Denial! Most insurance policies have a "Wear and Tear" exclusion. This means damage/accidents caused or attributed to by the natural wear and tear of a vehicle could cause part or whole claim denial. Schedule that maintenance. It may save you money in the long run.

I want to bring a little attention to something that I honestly didn't know existed until this weekend.
In the little town of West Columbia, Texas there is a place called The Warriors Refuge. They are a non-profit whose goal is to provide a safe and stable place for veterans to get their footing and rebuild their lives. It can be hard to transition into ordinary civilian life after being in the military. Mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness are real concerns that The Warriors Refuge addresses and provides support for. As someone who has family and friends in the military, some who gave the majority of their lives to serve, I felt the pull to share The Warriors Refuge and their cause. Our Veterans have served for us, it's the least we can do to support them when they are in need.
