I haven’t posted here in a little while, as I’ve had a lot going on “behind the scenes” recently, some good things, some not so good.
Tonight though, I just feel inspired. My middle daughter suggested a few weeks ago that we have a “family dinner” for the 5 of us (me, hubby and our 3 girls) while our youngest is home from college this summer.
With my 2 older daughters out of the house, it isn’t as easy to coordinate. But tonight, the 5 of us came together for a “regular weeknight dinner”, like we did when they were younger and I cooked for 5 every night. Does everyone in your house still sit in their “regular seats”? Mine all do! 😁
We all have a million things going on but I feel like time stopped for a few hours this evening. We just enjoyed being a family of 5 again, we were remembering old stories and jokes and it was an escape that was much needed.
Back to reality tomorrow, where I play many different roles. But for tonight, I was reminded up front and close of how much I enjoy just being “Mom”.
