Yesterday some members of our Partnership Plus group volunteered at America's Grow-A-Row in Pittstown, NJ. During our few hours there, we harvested an incredible 21,000 lbs of corn, which will feed 82,000 people in food banks across the country! 🌽

It was hard work and a really rewarding experience. If you’ve never done it, consider volunteering for this amazing organization, which is 100% self-funded and aims to end hunger through delivering fresh produce. You can do it with a group, your family/friends or even on your own (and kids are welcome)!

I'm thrilled to have volunteered at Moms Helping Moms Foundation with some of my colleagues from Financial Resources Federal Credit Union.

This organization’s staff and volunteers work tirelessly to eradicate childhood poverty by providing vital baby and period supplies to those in need. Their newly expanded facility is a wonderful example of their dedication and growth.

I haven’t posted in a while. The truth is I was burned out. I just didn’t have it in me to come up with a new post while dealing with other things taking up space in my mind and heart.

I’m a believer that taking a step back is absolutely crucial to recharging your batteries, and that’s exactly what I did. Hubby and I just returned from a 9 day trip to Greece and Turkey, and it was wonderful to disconnect from everyday life for a little while and explore some beautiful areas.

I’m back now and ready to finish out the summer! I’ve added some pics below because it was an incredible trip! Have you recharged your batteries recently?

I haven’t posted here in a little while, as I’ve had a lot going on “behind the scenes” recently, some good things, some not so good.

Tonight though, I just feel inspired. My middle daughter suggested a few weeks ago that we have a “family dinner” for the 5 of us (me, hubby and our 3 girls) while our youngest is home from college this summer.

With my 2 older daughters out of the house, it isn’t as easy to coordinate. But tonight, the 5 of us came together for a “regular weeknight dinner”, like we did when they were younger and I cooked for 5 every night. Does everyone in your house still sit in their “regular seats”? Mine all do! 😁

We all have a million things going on but I feel like time stopped for a few hours this evening. We just enjoyed being a family of 5 again, we were remembering old stories and jokes and it was an escape that was much needed.

Back to reality tomorrow, where I play many different roles. But for tonight, I was reminded up front and close of how much I enjoy just being “Mom”.
