News we have been waiting for!!! Florida's Hometown Hero Down Payment Assistance Program opens up starting Aug 18, 2025!

1st mortgage at below market interest rates. 2nd Mortgage (DPA) is 5% of the loan amount, 0% interest. ($10,000 minimum, $35,000 maximum) Pay it back when you sell the home or refinance.

The funds are limited to First-time Homebuyers employed by Florida companies and work in the following fields: Healthcare, Schools, Public Safety, 1st Responders, Court Employees, Child care. Military and veterans are also included and do not need to be first-time homebuyers. Borrowers must qualify.

Extra Bath Towels Needed at Sarasota Humane Society!

🚨URGENT NEED🚨

Do you have any old beach towels, pool towels, bath towels? WE CAN USE THEM!

We are completely out of bath sized towels at the Humane Society of Sarasota County, and we need your help! We use towels every single day—and sometimes we can only use them once if an animal is sick.

Right now, bath towels are our greatest need—we have plenty of hand towels and wash cloths. All donations can be dropped off at the shelter, 2331 15th Street in Sarasota. Donation Hours are Tuesday-Thursday 10am-6pm, Friday 12pm-7pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
