A big thank you to Pam Gillette, who addressed envelopes for the Parenting Matters' end-of-year appeal mailing last Thursday.

Pam gave her time through the Alliance Gives Back Volunteer Days project, and those envelopes will soon be on their way to neighbors across Manatee County in support of local families.

Parenting Matters works alongside parents to help keep kids safe and reach their full potential.

If you'd like to support their mission while enjoying a night out, the 10th Annual Sangarita Showdown is coming up on Friday, November 13th, at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto.

Guests can sample sangrias and margaritas from local Suncoast restaurants. All proceeds benefit Parenting Matters.

Due to Tropical Storm Isaias, insurance carriers have temporarily paused new property and flood policies, as well as any increases to existing coverage, in Liberty, Calhoun, and surrounding Panhandle counties.

This is standard practice when a storm is approaching, and it lifts once the threat has passed.

If you already have a policy with us, it stays active, and you can still file a claim the way you normally would.

What's on hold for now is new coverage and changes to your existing coverage.

If you're closing on a home soon or were about to call us for a quote, call anyway.

We can get the paperwork started now so your coverage can be bound as soon as carriers reopen.

This is a good time to take photos or a quick video of your home and belongings, and to keep your policy information and our number somewhere easy to reach.
