SUPER EL NINO WINTER - Get ready! The strongest El Niño in over a century is about to deliver a cold and stormy winter across the South. The storm track will be centered over the Gulf — which means we’ll see a parade of Gulf lows into Florida. This has the potential to be a record wet winter in Florida with multiple tornado outbreaks — which is a hallmark of El Niño winters in Florida. These impacts are even more extreme during a strong El Niño. Further north along the Gulf Coast, the southerly storm track could make for more opportunities for snow this winter.
