STRONG SEVERE WEATHER TODAY: The overnight update from the NOAA NWS Storm Prediction Center has expanded the ENHANCED (LEVEL 3/5) severe weather risk to include more south central areas to account for overnight model trends. ALL modes of severe weather are possible today, including STRONG (EF-2+) tornadoes. Some larger cities included under the heightened tornado risk include, but not limited to: Meridian, Jackson, Philadelphia, Vicksburg, Magee, Yazoo, Starkville, Newton, Forest, and Kosciusko.
Secondary threats include damaging wind gust up to 70 MPH, golfball size hail, and flash flooding.
Timing continues to be later this afternoon into the evening / overnight hours. This system has potential to be quite dangerous. Please stay very weather aware and continue to monitor for more weather updates.
