ry since his 20s after graduating from West Chester University when he stepped in to help his father out with his business. The office was in Hatboro at that point, and was moved to Boyertown in 1989 where Rich and his family lived. Kathryn joined the family business in 2013 after graduating from Kutztown University. She is our personal lines manager and is learning the commercial side of the business. Kathryn is looking to get multiple insurance designations as she continues her journey in the insurance world. Hi, I'm Kat 👋

I'm a third-generation insurance agent, born and raised right here in our community. Insurance has been a part of my family's life for decades, and I get to continue the tradition by helping protect the people and business where I grew up.

People always ask me "So, what exactly do you do?"

Well ... I don't just sell insurance. I help people prepare for the "I never thought that would happen to me" moments. The house fire, car accident, tree through the roof, dog decides the couch is an enemy. Life has a funny way of keeping us on our toes.

My job is to make sure those surprises don't become financial disasters.

You'll notice our logo is a football helmet, and that's not by accident. My dad, Rich, spent most of his life on the football field - first as a player and then as a coach. Football taught him the importance of preparation, teamwork, and protection. That's exactly what inspired me when creating our logo.

Just like a football helmet is there to protect you when life delivers a hard hit, insurance is there to help protect you when the unexpected happens. You hope you never need either one -but when you do, you're grateful it's there.

At the Burkett Agency, we believe insurance isn't about selling policies. It's about building relationships, answering questions, and making sure you're protected before life throws you a curveball.

As you celebrate Independence Day with family, friends, and fireworks, we hope you have a fun, relaxing, and safe holiday weekend!

With the extreme heat in our area, please remember to:
☀️ Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🐾 Keep pets indoors as much as possible, provide plenty of fresh water, and never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
🚗 Before traveling, make sure your vehicle is in good condition, especially your tires and coolant, and pack water in case of an emergency.

A few additional holiday safety reminders:
🎆 Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible, and keep a bucket of water or hose nearby if using legal consumer fireworks.
🔥 Never leave grills, fire pits, or bonfires unattended, and keep them a safe distance from your home, deck, and other structures.
🏡 Heading out for the weekend? Lock all doors and windows, set lights on timers if possible, and ask a trusted neighbor to keep an eye on your home.
🚙 If you're celebrating with family and friends, always buckle up, avoid distracted driving, and designate a sober driver if alcohol is part of your plans. Uber exists for a reason.
