There was a fire recently at an apartment complex with no fire suppression sprinklers.

Thankfully, there were no fatalities, but there were several videos of a firefighter shoveling out a nearby hydrant.

If you are fortunate enough to live near a hydrant, please take a few moments to shovel it out.... those precious minutes could be the difference between life and death.

Could you or someone you know use an extra $500, $1,000, or more a year? I might be able to help with that (and no, I'm not Santa! 🎅🏻)

Insurance rates are increasing across the board, which is why it's so important to have an independent agent (that's me!) who can shop (and re-shop if necessary) several carriers for you!

If you haven't had your insurance evaluated recently, I'd love to review your policies, make sure you have the appropriate coverage for the appropriate price, and educate you on those coverages!

Other great referrals for me:

🚘 Families with teen\young drivers!
Not all carriers "appreciate" young drivers. I have a few with programs specifically for young drivers who have saved local families hundreds of dollars!

🛥️🏍️ People who own "toys"!
Everyone thinks that a certain company is the king of insuring toys! Not true! When bundled with a home and autos, some toys are less expensive (one boat was $800 LESS!) than what they'd be alone with a different carrier!

🏢 Families or individuals who have been with "the big boys" (you know, the ones with elaborate TV commercials? 🗽🦎) forever! I have been blowing those guys out of the water, with either the same or BETTER coverage\benefits!

🏪🛍️ Locally owned businesses!
Small\medium sized business owners need to cut their overhead now more than ever! I'd love to see if we can save them money on their business, workers' compensation, and\or commercial auto insurance!

⛰️🏖️ Vacation homes!
We can write homes in neighboring states! If you are currently dealing with multiple insurance carriers because your vacation home is in a different state, we can put them all under one roof!

🌇 Renters!
So many renters assume that the insurance their landlord has on the building will cover them in case of a loss, this is absolutely not true! Any personal belongings are NOT covered! Temporary housing if your apartment becomes unlivable is NOT covered!
For around $15 a month all of your clothes, furniture, small kitchen appliances, etc will be protected!
Most carriers also offer "Loss of Use" coverage. This benefit will pay for alternative housing (and possibly other expenses) if your rental unit becomes temporarily unlivable due to a loss.

My heart goes out to those who lost their homes in Nashua.

Two very important points:

Many people are under the false assumption that the apartment owner (landlord) is responsible for housing tenants in this situation, they are not....

In addition to protecting your personal property, a key benefit of renter's insurance is Loss of Use.

If the residence you are renting is no longer liveable due to a covered loss, your insurance company could cover alternative housing and possibly other expenses either until you can return or for a certain amount of time.

Renter's insurance is usually less than $15\month....a very small investment for peace of mind and valuable protection!

And, in most cases, it will give you a discount on your auto policy, decreasing the additional cost!

Thankfully there were no deaths in this fire, but if you are a multi-family owner, your General Liability policy should have at least $1M in liability, AND you may want to consider an umbrella for at least another $1M+....the more units, the higher the umbrella amount....

If there are fatalities and the building owner is found liable, the deceased's loved ones can sue for wrongful death.

Any judgement amount beyond your policy coverage comes out of your pocket. If there are multiple fatalities, that can add up quickly.

It pays to have a knowledgeable agent looking out for your interests....big or small!
