If you live downstate, you aren’t out of it yet. Another round on the way. ☔️

Most sump pumps have an avg life span of about 10 years, depending on their use. If your pumps seems to “run all the time”, it would be good practice to replace yours about every 7 years, BEFORE it fails when you need it the most.

Another round of rain and t-storms, some could be strong with damaging wind gusts, is likely tomorrow late morning into tomorrow afternoon across northern Illinois. After this wave moves through, periods of rain and t-storms will continue Thursday afternoon into Thursday night and off and on into Friday morning. This steady rain will finally end Friday afternoon as it looks now. Damaging Wind Gusts, hail, and especially flooding are a concern Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. More rain is likely Saturday and Sunday before we finally break this pattern next week.

7am: Expected another noisy night across northern Illinois with more thunderstorms with the potential for torrential rainfall and all hazard risks. Storms will begin to fire as early as 3-4pm with the main wave really taking shape after 5-6pm this evening. Storms will have extreme levels of instability to work with so again large hail could be significant along with damaging wind gusts. Cant rule out a few tornadoes but it's not the main risk this evening. Storms could continue past midnight into Tuesday morning.
