Mortgage in a Minute brings you Grant Programs.

Home buyer grants sound great, but understand the strings attached. Home buyer grant programs typically have limitations that include where you can buy, the price of home you can purchase or how long you have to own the home. Certain grant programs also require you to use a particular type of loan that may have a much higher rate or more closing costs as compared to a typical conventional loan. This may actually make the grant a much more expensive option overall and cost you thousands of dollars over the time you own your home. Some programs are actual grants, others are loans that have to eventually be paid back.

Bottom line: make sure you have all the information on the programs that are available including what restrictions, limitations and rules come with the grant. Look at other options as well and make sure you have a good understanding of what you're committing to when you accept a grant.
