Intercambio Uniting Communities We create programs, curriculum, and training that inspire mutual learning.

Let's talk field trips! 😎

In each of our Confidence & Connections books, we encourage our classes to practice English in real-world settings, like hikes, library visits, or dinner at a favorite restaurant.

On a recent field trip, teacher Judi invited her students into her home. As a carpenter, she shared a lesson on woodworking, before settling down to a delicious lunch.

That’s Intercambio in action: exchange, connection, and learning inside and outside the classroom. Way to go, Judi & students! 👏

We had some special guests in the Boulder office this week!

Philip & Kent are long-time online volunteers. In fact, Philip was in our original pilot group when we launched our online program during the pandemic in 2020! Now, he's helping us transition to the newest iteration of our improved online learning system.

We're so honored that they made time to meet with us on their visit from Santa Barbara. It was lovely to hear stories of how they support and are supported by their students, to share ideas, and get to know each other.

Committed, kind volunteer teachers like Kent & Philip make our work possible! We couldn't be more grateful! 💖

A big thank you to our incredible volunteers! 💙

We had such a wonderful time gathering with teachers, volunteers, and staff at our Volunteer Happy Hour recently to celebrate the amazing community that makes this work possible.

Your time, energy, and dedication create meaningful connections and open doors for English learners in our community every day. We’re so grateful for all that you do! 🤝

🚨 We're so proud to share this news! 🚨

Learning English is about much more than language. It can be a step toward rebuilding, connecting, and finding the confidence to share your story.

Lynne Weintraub, from our partner organization Friends of the Jones Library System - Amherst, MA, recently shared the story of a previous student, Tsultrim Dolma. Tsultrim was an English learner from Tibet whose journey, with the help of dedicated volunteers and mentors, grew into something extraordinary: a published memoir! 👏

Tsultrim's book, Defying China, is now out in the world! It is a powerful reminder of the strength and fortitude it takes to come to the U.S., learn a new language, and tell your story. We're so proud of Tsultrim and of our partners at The Jones Library!

What you know can help others!

If you run an adult English program, teach volunteers, or support English learners in any capacity, your knowledge could help your peers.

Intercambio is now accepting proposals for the 6th Annual Summer Conference, happening online on Friday, August 28, 2026. This year's theme: "Language, Learning, and Belonging."

We're looking for 45-minute interactive workshops from teachers, tutors, program administrators, and educators across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. This is an opportunity for practitioners to share what they know with others doing the same work.

Submit your proposal by June 26.

The reimagined Intercambio Network gives ESOL programs what they need: online teacher training for volunteers and staff, built-in Store Credit at every membership level, and a community of programs doing this work across the country.
