Please do not sign up for a Medicare Plan over the phone with someone who you do not know, even if it is someone that is associated with an advertisement that you see on tv.

I just spoke with a customer that signed up for a plan that ended up costing her $5000 for a minor procedure and short hospital stay! These tela-agents only give the plan highlights and never give the negatives.

Please buy your Medicare Insurance from a local agent that you can trust!

We are moving!

James Schulze Insurance is pleased to announce the opening of our new office in Botkins, Ohio - Same great service, different location!!

After being in Anna for the past 12 years, we have outgrown our current office space and look forward to serving you at our new location.

Our new office is located at 101 South Mill Street, Botkins Ohio 45306. This location was formerly the Pilates for Life studio which has been renovated into our new insurance office. We are right on the main drag of Botkins on the West side of town close to the Botkins Post Office.

Our first day in our new office will be Monday April 4th. If you are in the area please stop by, we would love to show you around!

Please do not give your Medicare Number to anyone over the phone. We have had many clients that have been scammed in the recent months by people claiming to give free gas cards and free grocery cards or money back in your social security check. Even if you do not want to enroll in what they are offering, these dishonest agents will use your Medicare Number to sign you up on a different plan. This will disenroll you from your current Medicare plan leaving you with coverage that may not be beneficial to you.

Are you one of the many that mistakenly signed up for a Medicare Advantage Plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period but you actually wanted to stay on your Medicare Supplement Plan not realizing that you cannot have both? Or did you switch your Medicare Advantage plan to a different carrier and wish you wouldn't have?

Luckily Medicare has another Enrollment Period for these exact situations. It is called the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period. This lasts from January 1st through March 31st each year.

During this time frame you can do one of the following:

1. Disenroll from a Medicare Advantage plan to go back to original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement and Part D plan.
(If going back to your previous Medicare Supplement plan there are no health questions asked. If going to a different Medicare Supplement plan than before, or if it is your first time ever enrolling in a Medicare Supplement plan after having a Medicare Advantage plan you would need to answer health questions.)

2. Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to another.

Warning!
Please DO NOT give your Medicare #, Date of Birth, or Social Security # to anyone over the phone.
There are many scams going on right now where people are taking advantage of those on Medicare!
Even if you call into a number on a tv ad, please do not give them your personal information. Many of our clients have been switched to different plans that are not beneficial to them without knowing that they are being switched. Once the person on the other end of the phone call has your Medicare # and birthday, they can sign you up for a plan without you knowing about it.

Did you know that you can make changes to your Medicare Supplement plan 12 months out of the year? Most people are under the impression that changes can only be made during Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) October 15th- December 7th. AEP is used for updating Prescription coverage or Advantage Plans.
