Today marks 9 years in mortgage, and what a ride it’s been. 🏡🎢

I started when I was 19 years old, coming straight from being a full-time barista with ZERO knowledge of the mortgage industry. The only reason I knew some of the terminology was because my mom had been in the business for years.

My first role was as an Appraisal Coordinator—a very beginner-friendly position. I ordered appraisals, followed up with appraisers, reviewed reports, requested revisions, handled invoicing, submitted files to FHA and VA, and pretty much anything appraisal-related.

As time went on, I joined another team while still helping with appraisals. That’s where I really started learning the ins and outs of mortgage.

We reviewed and collected just about every document needed to close a home loan. 😅 Condos, title and escrow, employment, credit, rental history, flood certifications, insurance, existing loans—you name it.

While I’m only approaching one year in sales, I bring 8 years of backend corporate mortgage experience that helped build the foundation for where I am today.

From the moment I started learning the business, I knew I wanted to become a Loan Officer. I worked with loan officers all over the country, learning what not to do from some and learning a tremendous amount from the great ones. That’s why communication, education, and transparency are so important to me today.
