RWA'S WEALTH WITH INTENTION AND WELLWORTH ADVISORS ADDRESS LONGEVITY

RWA Family Office Managing Directors Evelyn Pepe and Jennifer Votano recently hosted a dinner with John Samuels, founder and CEO of Wellworth Advisors, and Jose Manual Paez, MD, senior medical advisor at Wellworth, where the subject of conversation was family health and longevity.

Over a meal at Davio’s in Boston, the hosts and guests, including RWA CEO and Chief Economist Michelle Knight, discussed how lifespans have increased and the challenges this can pose from a financial, social and health care perspective. Attendees were charmed by John’s note that an ice cream a day may have health benefits, even as the group also explored more serious, deeply human topics like isolation, resiliency, talk therapy, identity and purpose, planning around life instead of just death or illness, and more.

Our thanks to all who were able to attend, to John and Dr. Paez for their insights, and to Jennifer and Evelyn for being such gracious hosts.

MARKET UPDATE: AI SPENDING AND THE TREASURY’S MINI TWIST

In his August 2026 market update, CIO Joseph “JP” Powers discusses what’s fueling recent market performance before taking a deeper dive into two major factors at play for investors: AI spending and what’s happening in the bond market.

On the surface, AI hyperscalers have grown their cash balances, but when you look beneath, a different picture emerges. Capital expenditures are making a significant impact on their free cash flow. JP shares what this says about the health of these companies and the implications for future growth.

Meanwhile, as the deficit exceeds $40 trillion, long-term Treasury bond yields have risen to multi-year highs, which could affect the equity market as the cost of cash goes up. The Treasury has initiated a bond buyback program in response, which JP compares with the Federal Reserve’s 2011 Operation Twist, but with some significant differences.

He wraps up the month’s commentary with key factors he’s watching in the months ahead.

HONORING SUE IRWIN'S LEGACY THROUGH SWIM ACROSS AMERICA

Some people leave a lasting impact not only through what they accomplish, but through how they care for others.

This year, Team Irwin once again took to the waters of Long Island Sound in memory of our dear colleague and friend, Sue Irwin, whose compassion, generosity and commitment to helping others continue to inspire all of us at RWA.

We are especially proud of David Mastroianni, who once again, on behalf of RWA, sponsored Team Irwin and joined Sue's family, friends and advocates in supporting a cause that was deeply meaningful to her.

Together, Team Irwin raised more than $92,000 this year in support of cancer research and patient programs, helping advance the fight against a disease that affects so many families.

The broader Swim Across America Long Island Sound event brought together hundreds of swimmers, survivors, volunteers and supporters, raising funds that benefit leading cancer research and patient care organizations throughout the region. This year’s SAA Long Island Sound event collectively raised over $2.3 million.

We're grateful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered and rallied behind Team Irwin. Every dollar raised, every mile swum and every act of support helps carry forward Sue's legacy of service, compassion and hope.

Market Update: The AI Trade Evolution and Inflation Uncertainty.

In his July 2026 market update, CIO Joseph “JP” Powers JP highlights the stock market’s strong year-to-date performance, noting the S&P 500 is already on pace to match its long-term average annual gain.

He explains that markets have rallied despite mixed inflation data. While consumer inflation cooled in June, producer inflation remained elevated, creating potential pressure on corporate margins. Oil price volatility tied to the ongoing U.S.-Iran war has further complicated the outlook. With inflation still a concern and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh focused on price stability, interest rates could potentially remain higher for longer.

JP also discusses the evolution of the AI story, as companies that support AI infrastructure have recently benefited from broader adoption. He notes that both equity performance and credit conditions will be important to watch as AI investment continues.

JP concludes with his key areas of focus for the second half of 2026: inflation, corporate margins, Fed policy and AI spending.

In our latest episode of The Human Side of Wealth podcast, Andrew Busa is joined by Steve Johnson and Steve Reder to break down how investment management fits into a broader financial plan. They discuss why goals, timelines and risk management matter more than performance headlines, how long bull markets can distort decision-making and why concentration risk often shows up after periods of success.

The conversation also explores the emotional side of investing, the value of having an accountability partner and how disciplined planning helps investors stay focused through volatility.
