No rate cut from the Fed this time! Despite some internal dissent and outward pressure to cut rates, the Fed held policy rates at the current level at their July meeting. The Board's statement noted moderating economic activity in the first half of the year and described continuing uncertainty for the future. The Fed doesn't control mortgage rates directly, and economic or geopolitical events are more likely to have an impact on mortgage rates at this time. Amy and I had the privilege to speak to the “Green House” students of Benton Elementary about how we incorporate Habit #5 (Seek first to understand, then to be understood.) throughout our daily lives and in our profession. We loved getting to share with students about the mortgage industry and why we love helping people purchase homes.

Thank you Benton Elementary for inviting us to speak- you have a great group of kids who asked very inquisitive questions! And as an added bonus, our two Green House daughters got to hang with their parents this morning! 💚
