The safety theme continues today as it is Trailer Safety Week! 🚛⚓️

From hauling your boat to the harbor, bringing home supplies for a DIY project, or setting off on a camping adventure, trailers are a big part of life here on the Maine coast. As your local insurance agency we want to make sure you're towing safely and confidently.

Trailer accidents can happen, and proper preparation is key to preventing them. This week is a great reminder to check your trailer before you hit the road.

Here are a few quick tips to help ensure a safe tow:

☑️Check Your Connections: Make sure your hitch, coupler, and safety chains are securely attached and in good condition.

☑️Lights & Brakes: Verify that all trailer lights (running, brake, and turn signals) are working, and test your trailer brakes.

☑️Tires: Inspect your trailer tires for proper inflation, tread wear, and any signs of damage. Don't forget the spare!

☑️Load Distribution: Distribute your cargo evenly, with about 60% of the weight in the front half of the trailer, to prevent swaying.

☑️Pre-Trip Inspection: Do a quick walk-around before every trip to catch any potential issues.

☀️ In case you missed the post last week, Summer Hours are HERE! ☀️

Starting today, through September 18, we’ll be shifting to summer hours — which means our offices will be closing a little earlier on Fridays.

🕞 Every Friday, we’ll close at 3:30 PM so our team can enjoy a little extra sunshine and summer fun! We’ll still be here for all your insurance needs during regular hours Monday–Thursday and until 3:30 on Fridays!
