Great info on the recent market volatility! As I write this, the Dow is having its longest weekly losing streak since 1924 AND the NASDAQ is down over 30% from its recent high. Ouch! These are risky times for everyone...especially if you are taking a "DIY" approach. Call for a 2nd opinion!

Our weekly "Stifel Bits" always provides an interesting perspective. It's been a crazy year so far for stocks and bonds...but there is a silver lining. Many people still have money sitting in a checking/savings account that is barely earning any interest. The increase in interest rates now is making Treasuries yields more attractive. You can now earn approximately 1.4% on a 6-month Treasury and 2.65% on a 2-year Treasury. Risk-free! It's time to get that money out of your savings account and earn some interest.

Great article sharing the uncertainty that is impacting the stock market. The rise is interest rates has hurt the stock market and the bond market. However, there is a silver lining...we can now buy 1 and 2 year treasuries that yield 2 - 2.5% so don't leave your money in a savings account that is only earning .2%. That time is over!
