The State of Louisiana will begin Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 a.m., when clocks will move forward one hour.

As a result of this time change, morning hours will be darker, creating potential safety hazards for students waiting at school bus stops. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution during early morning travel, as reduced visibility increases the risk of pedestrian related incidents involving children.

The safety of our children is a shared responsibility. Please drive carefully and stay vigilant.
