Flood damage is not covered by your typical Homeowners policy and you do not have to live on the coast to be affected by rising water. We can help get you the proper coverages for a rate that is surprisingly less expensive than you might think.

Floods can be devastating, wreaking havoc on homes and leaving families struggling to recover.

According to FEMA, just one inch of water can cause roughly $30k of damage to your property, and 99 percent of U.S. counties have experienced a flood since 1998.
Unfortunately, according to recent data, only around 15% of homeowners have flood insurance. This means that the vast majority of homeowners are unprepared for the financial burden that comes with repairing or rebuilding their homes after a flood event.

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood policies typically take 30 days to go into effect, so if you don’t have flood insurance but are interested, please contact the NFIP at https://www.floodsmart.gov/

If you have been impacted by flooding from Idalia and do not have flood insurance, you can use this link to see if you qualify for federal assistance: https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4734

Be safe, Have fun & BE SAFE again...

People around the country will use fireworks this July 4th. The most important thing is to respect how powerful they are and use them safely.

- Never allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers. Sparklers burn at temperatures of about 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit—hot enough to melt some metals.
- Never launch fireworks off your body,
- Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy, in case of fire or other mishap.
- Make sure fireworks are legal in your area, and only purchase and set off fireworks that are labeled for consumer (not professional) use.
- Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

With hurricane season upon us, it's time to prepare and stay safe together! 🏠⛑️

Don't wait for the storm to hit before taking action. Let's get ahead of the game and make sure our families and communities are ready. Here are some essential tips to remember:

✔️ Create an emergency kit: Stock up on non-perishable food, water, batteries, flashlights, a first aid kit, and any necessary medications. Don't forget important documents like insurance papers and identification.

✔️ Develop a family emergency plan: Discuss evacuation routes, designated meeting points, and communication methods with your loved ones. Ensure everyone knows what to do and where to go in case of an emergency.

✔️ Secure your home: Trim trees and remove any loose branches that could pose a threat. Reinforce windows, doors, and garage doors. Consider installing hurricane shutters or plywood to protect against strong winds.

✔️ Stay informed: Keep a close eye on weather updates and official announcements from local authorities. Follow reliable sources and download weather apps to receive alerts. Knowledge is power when it comes to staying safe.

✔️ Prepare for power outages: Have a backup generator or alternative power sources ready. Charge your mobile devices and have spare batteries for essential electronics. Remember to unplug sensitive equipment during storms.

✔️ Check your insurance: Review your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy to ensure it covers potential hurricane-related damages. Consider adding flood insurance if you're in a high-risk area.

✔️ Help your neighbors: Look out for one another. Offer assistance to those who may need help with preparations or evacuations. Together, we can make a difference and support our community during challenging times.

Remember, preparedness is key to staying safe during hurricane season. Let's spread the word, share these tips, and help our friends and family be ready for anything! 💪🌪️🌎
