NSD is committed to increasing our efforts to enhance our environmental consciousness and be more resourceful in our day-to-day operations.

We asked everyone at NSD to send in a winning slogan for this effort and chose:

"Go Green, Breathe Clean"

To elevate our recycling efforts, we placed recycling bins in the breakrooms, lunchroom, and the patio area.

Why is recycling important?

- It reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators.
- It conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals.
- It prevents pollution and reduces greenhouse gases by reducing the need to mine and process new raw materials.

We set up a fun challenge for each department, assigning them a box to decorate using recycled material found around the office.

A vote was cast and we chose:

The Compliance Department's creation!

Thank you to the departments that participated and we want to encourage each one of you to do your personal best to make our world a better place for everyone.

This past week, our NSD community donated 6,673 pounds of food for our local food bank, Boca Helping Hands. We are incredibly proud of this effort from our team and are honored to now hold the record for the largest food drive of 2023 at Boca Helping Hands. Way to go team! Boca Helping Hands

The NSD team went to Boca South Beach for a clean up project to benefit Boca Save our Beaches.

NSD covered 2.62 miles of beach, removing 46.5 pounds of trash, collecting over 3.3 pounds of trash per person in less than 2 hours.

This is a significant number!!

A total of 1,346 items were removed including:
31 – plastic bags
19 – plastic bottles
13 – cans
147 – bottle caps
72 – cigarette butts
60 – foam, paper, plastic plates
66 – food wrappers
51 – straws
25 – plastic utensils
23 – pieces of construction material
17 – strapping bands
5 – balloons
623 – random pieces of plastic
