Deductibles are a key part of your car insurance policy. When you have a car insurance claim, your deductible is the amount of money you pay for car repairs before insurance starts paying.

❔ How does a deductible work?
When you buy a car insurance policy, you’ll select a deductible amount that you're comfortable paying. Your insurance company will use this amount to set your premium.
If something happens to your car, you’ll file an insurance claim. Your insurance company will take your deductible amount out of the total payout of the claim.

❔ How do deductibles affect rates?
Your chosen insurance deductible will impact the premium you pay for your car insurance policy. In general, if you choose a higher deductible, you'll have a lower premium, and vice versa.

❔ Why do I have to pay a deductible?
Insurance deductibles play a key role in how car insurance works. You pay a deductible to help:
• Control insurance costs
• Encourage responsible behavior

Walk around the house, open closets, drawers, cabinets, etc and record everything in those places. After you finish the recording, email yourself a copy of that video. This easy and simple tip will save you SO much time and stress in the event of a claim or total loss.

Frank Scott is the owner of Frank Scott Agency. Frank started his career in 2005 with Cotton States which officially changed its name to COUNTRY Financial in 2013. Frank is married to Michelle Scott they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Frank enjoys family, golf and Alabama football. He takes pride in helping his clients with preparing for their financial future.

Kindra Sims has been with the Frank Scott Agency since 2012. Kindra is married to Mason Sims and they have 2 daughters, Riley and Kaylee. Kindra enjoys weekends with her family, her pets (Cooper, Berry and Dottie) and Alabama football. Kindra takes pride in knowing her clients and helping them with their Insurance needs.

Ashley Giles has been with the Frank Scott Agency since 2015. Ashley took some time away to be with her newborn son Layton who is now 3. Ashley is married to Colby Giles. Ashley enjoys family time, her pets (Sadie, Bailey and Mia) and Auburn football (Office divided). Ashley takes pride in helping her clients and putting a smile on their face.

Randall “Butch” Gardner has been in the Insurance business for over 45 years. Butch is married to Melinda Gardner and they have 2 daughters and 3 grandsons. Butch enjoys fishing, grilling, and Alabama football. Butch has semi-retired from Insurance. He is now the Poultry specialist here at the Frank Scott Agency.
