Life insurance, such as an Indexed Universal Life policy, can help protect your family by:
1: Replacing the loss of your income
2: Paying for your child’s college education
3: Providing the funds necessary to keep the family business alive
4: Leaving a charitable legacy to those of your choice

In addition to providing a legacy after death, an Indexed Universal Life policy can be used for:
#1: Supplementing retirement income, which may be tax free
#2: Providing "living benefits" in the form of funds, in the event of serious illness (heart attack, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer's, etc.) or serious injury

In the event of injury or illness, and you become unable to perform two of the necessary daily activities such as dressing or bathing, the living benefits rider provides access to a portion of your policy’s death benefit during life, with the remaining death benefit going to your beneficiary when you pass away. Even though the living benefits rider can help protect you financially in your later years, it is not a replacement for long-term care or disability income insurance. Typically, the living benefits rider is automatically included as a benefit of an Indexed Universal Life policy at no additional cost to the insured.
