Lose a tree in the storms? These tips might save you a phone call or two:

1. If the tree has just fallen in your yard and is not on a structure or blocking your driveway, insurance will not pay for removal of the tree.

2. If you’ve lost shingles/siding, take photos and call your agent to determine what next steps are.

3. You, as the homeowner, are responsible for preventing further damage. This might mean that you have to tarp your roof or take other steps.
