Today I salute the memory of Dr. King on what would have been his birthday. Tomorrow we recognize him for his sacrifice in the name of civil rights. The gravity of his sacrifice has never been lost on me. I hope you will take some time to also recognize this great man and his contribution to a better society.

I lost a long-time policyholder recently. We have had so many talks over the years when he has visited the office. One, just one, of those talks was about the value of a life insurance policy. This week I had the opportunity to share with his widow the benefit of our talks. Today, it feels bittersweet to give her a check, because I will miss my friend - but I know he is in heaven knowing I fulfilled his wish and his family is taken care of. RIH Friend!

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I celebrate each year by keeping my office open. I go to work, because Dr. King fought for my right to have my own business and serve all people. I spend my own quiet moments reflecting on his sacrifice. Thank you for doing the same.
