NW Financial attended the annual scholarship gala supporting the Newark Housing Authority Scholarship Foundation at Nanina’s in the Park on Wednesday, February 18th.

Established in 1988, the Foundation has awarded over $2.5 million in scholarships to more than 500 students residing in Newark Housing Authority properties, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college.

We are especially proud that our Managing Director, Lisa Petrosky-Muckle, serves as a Board Member of the Foundation and supports its continued mission to create opportunity through education.

NW Financial Group proudly celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, February 11th, for Terrell Senior Residence in the East Ward of Newark, NJ. This new 69-unit affordable housing community for seniors was developed in partnership with The Alpert Group and the Newark Housing Authority, with financing provided by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and NJEDA ASPIRE tax credits. Notably, it is the first project in the City of Newark to receive ASPIRE tax credits.

The four-story development features modern apartments above a ground-floor amenity level that includes secure resident parking, a management and leasing office suite, and supportive services offices. The second floor offers a spacious community room dedicated to the former tenant association, whose members advocated tirelessly to preserve affordable housing for their community.

NW Financial Group supported this project from its conception in 2018 through the ribbon-cutting celebration, marking the milestone of a fully occupied and permanently affordable residence for the residents of Newark. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with our valued partners as additional phases advance under the Millard Terrell Homes Master Plan.
