If you’re considering buying a house this year, chances are you’ve probably Googled or used ChatGPT to figure out how much house you can afford.

One of the biggest factors I see forgotten about are the future estimates of property taxes after you become a homeowner and your house gets reassessed.

First, don’t start scrolling Zillow until you’ve spoken to a lender. Clarity takes the stress out of everything. Even if you’re not ready to move for another 6 months, planning starts now.

Second, give yourself time. Moving is a big decision and one that takes preparation. Speaking with a Realtor can help iron out the process, especially if you have a home to sell.
