Prescription costs can add up FAST. And for many people, even medications they rely on daily are becoming harder to afford. 💊💸

But one thing I’ve learned working in health insurance is that the price you’re initially given isn’t always the only option.

Over the years, I’ve helped many clients find savings or assistance programs they had no idea were available - in some cases, those programs saved them THOUSANDS of dollars per year on their prescriptions. 🙌🏼💰

Depending on the medication & your coverage, there may be generic alternatives, manufacturer savings, patient assistance programs, pharmacy discounts, or even significant price differences from one pharmacy to another.

A little research (& knowing the right questions to ask) can sometimes make a BIG difference.

If you’re struggling with the cost of a prescription, don’t be afraid to ask questions & explore your options. Your pharmacist, doctor & insurance professional can all be valuable resources in helping you understand what may be available to you. 🙏🏼

🚨 Just because a provider says they “accept” your insurance does NOT necessarily mean they’re in-network with your plan! 🙅🏼‍♀️❌

This is something I see clients get confused about ALL the time - especially when it comes to dental, vision, chiropractic & other specialty providers.

When an office says they “accept” your insurance, that may simply mean they’re willing to BILL your insurance company. 💰Being ✨in-network✨ means the provider has actually contracted with your insurance network and agreed to its negotiated rates.

And here’s another important distinction: asking whether they’re “in-network with ✨so & so insurance company✨” may not always be enough either! Insurance companies can have multiple plans & provider networks, and a provider participating in one doesn’t necessarily mean they participate in yours. 👀

👉🏼 Before scheduling, make sure the provider’s office checks your ✨specific plan & network✨ - not just the name of your insurance company.

Instead of simply asking:
❌ “Do you accept my insurance?”

Try asking:
✅ “Are you contracted as an in-network provider with my specific plan/network?”

That little distinction can make a BIG difference when it comes to what you pay out of pocket - and can help prevent a ✨not-so-fun✨ surprise when the bill arrives. 🙃

Just a little hello from behind the desk 👋🏼😊

I spend a lot of my days behind this desk comparing plans, answering questions, solving problems, following up with insurance companies, and helping people make sense of coverage that can sometimes feel anything BUT simple. 😂😵‍💫

One of my favorite things about what I do is getting to know the people behind the policies. Insurance can feel complicated, overwhelming, and really just not that exciting. 😅🙃 But helping people understand all of their options, feel confident in their coverage, and know they have someone they can reach out to when questions come up? That part I genuinely love. 🙏🏼

I’m incredibly passionate about making sure people are ACTUALLY set up with coverage that makes sense for them and their needs. Sometimes that means helping someone find new coverage, and sometimes it’s simply taking a second look at what they already have to make sure they’re in a good spot. Either way, I want people to feel confident that their coverage is truly working for them. 🤍

🌟 MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY 🌟

❌ “I already have life insurance through work, so I’m covered.”

Employer-provided life insurance is a great benefit, but it shouldn’t always be your only coverage.

Here’s why:
➡️ Most employer-sponsored life insurance doesn’t follow you if you leave your job or retire.
➡️ If you need to apply for coverage later, you’ll be older, and changes in your health could make coverage more expensive or more difficult to obtain.
➡️ An individual policy stays with you, regardless of where you work.

Some employer plans do offer the option to convert your coverage when employment ends. While that can be better than losing coverage altogether, I’ve often found those converted policies come with significantly higher premiums because they’re based on your age at the time you leave or retire. By that point, you may also have fewer affordable options than if you’d secured an individual policy earlier in life.

Every situation is different, and that’s why it’s important to review your coverage BEFORE you actually need it. ✅

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Customer Appreciation Event last week! We had an amazing turnout, and we truly appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with us. 😊🎉

I also wanted to apologize to any of my clients who stopped by hoping to see me. I was stationed around the back of the building helping supervise the bounce house & face painting for the kids, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to step away to visit with everyone who came by. I really appreciate those of you who made the trip, and I’m sorry I missed the chance to say hello. 🙏🏼

Between painting faces all afternoon & helping keep everything running for the kids, I completely forgot to take photos. 🫣 Thankfully, a few of my colleagues snapped some pictures so I still have a few to share. ☺️🎨💙
