Thank you to everyone who took the time to send birthday wishes last week! 🎂🎊

Turning 30 has me reflecting on how grateful I am for the opportunities, relationships, and experiences that have shaped both my personal life and career.

Most importantly, I’m thankful for the wonderful clients who continue to place their trust in me and allow me to be part of their journeys as they navigate some of life’s most important decisions. The relationships I’ve built through this career are something I truly cherish, and I never take that trust for granted. 🙏🏼🤍

🌸🩷 It’s always the little things that remind me why I love what I do.

Insurance can be complicated. There are long days, challenging situations, claim issues, underwriting hurdles, and plenty of things that don’t always go as planned. But then there are moments like this that make it all worthwhile. 🥰

For the past several years, one of my Medicare clients (who’s in her 90’s) has brought me a beautiful bouquet of peonies for my birthday - along with a bag of freshly baked cookies. ☺️🍪

She grows the flowers herself, cuts them, arranges them & personally delivers them. The flowers are beautiful, but it’s the thoughtfulness behind them that means the most. The fact that she remembers my birthday each year & takes the time to do something so kind truly warms my heart. 🥹🩷

I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I’ve built through this career. Helping people navigate their insurance needs is a privilege, but getting to know so many wonderful individuals along the way is the part I’ll always cherish most. 🫶🏼

✅ FACT: Some parts might be, but Medicare isn’t always completely free. 🙃

Many people qualify for premium-free Part A because they paid Medicare taxes during their working years. However, Part B has a monthly premium, and depending on the coverage you choose, there may be additional premiums or out-of-pocket costs as well.

That’s why it’s important to understand ALL of your options before enrolling.

Most people think they “make too much” for Marketplace savings, but that’s not always true. 👀
It all comes down to your MAGI - and more importantly, how it’s calculated.

A few simple ways to potentially lower it:

✔️ Contribute to retirement (IRA, etc.)
✔️ Use an HSA if eligible
✔️ Write off legitimate business expenses (if self-employed)

These aren’t loopholes - they’re just smart planning. 🤓💰
Lower MAGI = more financial assistance = lower monthly premiums. ✅

Premium Tax Credits don’t work the way most people think. 🤷🏼‍♀️

They’re not something you automatically have to “pay back” at tax time.

It’s a reconciliation - meaning it adjusts based on your ACTUAL income.

✔️ Made more than expected? You may have to pay a portion back if you received more financial assistance than you should have
✔️ Made less than expected? You could get MORE money back if you received less assistance than you qualified for

It goes BOTH ways. 🔁

Understanding this can make a huge difference when choosing the right plan. If you’re unsure how this applies to you, I’m happy to walk you through it. 🤍
