Why Many Couples Need Financial Healing, Not Just Financial Literacy
I used to think if people just knew MORE about money, they’d do better with it.
Budget templates. Savings challenges. Credit score hacks.
But after years of teaching financial literacy—and watching couples STILL fight about money even after they “knew better”—I realized something:
Information doesn’t heal trauma.
When your grandmother hid cash in the mattress because banks couldn’t be trusted…
When your father worked himself to death but still couldn’t get ahead…
When your mother’s voice still echoes: “We can’t afford that” even though you CAN now…
That’s not a budgeting problem. That’s a healing problem.
And when you bring that unhealed money story into your relationship?
When his money trauma meets her money trauma?
When you’re fighting about the car note but you’re really fighting about safety, control, worthiness, and whether you’ll end up like your parents?
A spreadsheet can’t fix that.
The couples I work with don’t need another financial literacy course.
They need a space to:
∙ Untangle the money stories they inherited
∙ Understand how their communication styles (yes, I use astrology—fight me 😂) create conflict around finances
∙ Redesign their relationship with money TOGETHER
∙ Build wealth that heals backward (their parents) and forward (their children)
Because here’s the truth: We can’t budget our way out of generational trauma.
We have to HEAL our way into generational wealth.
And that healing? It starts with the couple.
Heal the parents. Liberate the children.
That’s the work.
If this resonates with you—or you know a couple who needs to hear this—drop a 💜 below.
And if you want to talk about what financial healing could look like for YOUR relationship, my DMs are open.
It’s time we stopped fighting about money and started healing through it.
