PLEASE check your baby's fingers and toes every single day. ❤️
Check them multiple times a day if you can. Check after tummy time, naps, and playtime—even if your baby has only been on a blanket or play mat. And always turn socks inside out before putting them on.
When my oldest was a baby, I remember reading about hair tourniquets and thinking, "That could never happen to us." But the thought stuck with me, so I made a habit of checking my babies' toes regularly.
Thank goodness I did.
At bath time today, I found a strand of hair tightly wrapped around my baby's toe. 😢 It couldn't have been there for long, but it had already started leaving a deep mark and affecting circulation.
My guess is that it happened while she was playing on her mat earlier in the day.
It was a scary reminder that hair tourniquets are real and can happen so quickly. That's why I'm sharing this again—to raise awareness and remind parents that something as simple as checking tiny fingers and toes can make a big difference.
Please share this with any parents or caregivers you know, and don't forget to check those little feet. ❤️
