Same word. Three very different jobs. đ đĄď¸
đĄ Homeowners insurance helps cover the home and belongings after certain covered losses or damage.
đ Title insurance addresses certain ownership or title problems connected to the propertyâs past. A lenderâs policy protects the lender, while an ownerâs policy protects the homeowner.
đ° Mortgage insurance protects the lender if the borrower stops making payments. Whether it is required depends on the loan program, down payment and other factors.
All three may come up during the homebuying process, but they are definitely not interchangeable.
Real estate colleagues, save and share this before your buyer asks, âWait, which insurance is this again?â đ
