EMERGENCY CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS AND LOYAL SUPPORTERS!!!

Recently, our storage facility has not only raised the prices but, new ownership, has decided not to honor our long-lasting agreement with the wonderful and charitable former owners of Greensprings Mini Storage that donated 2 of 3 units. We have been bleeding money, to the tune of $450/mth for months that could have fed a few families and helped our neighbors on the street as well as a few housing insecure neighbors keep the lights on.
We are needing to consolidate our units down from 3 to 1 and are gonna need volunteer help to do that next Saturday Oct 14 from 1- 4pm. The storage units are all on the same level and we will be emptying out our smaller 2 and organizing our larger one to hold everything. Please reach out if you are able to come out and help make this task a quick and less painful process.
We are also looking for donors to help pay the storage fees up through the end of 2023 and the 1st half of 2024 to help take some financial stress off of our tiny grassroots organization that we had not planned for. Over the years I've learned how to stretch a dollar pretty far but I can't figure out how to make $99/mth be $450/mth. The extra $1515 that has been paid over the last 5 months, was for the rest of 2023 and ALL of 2024. All we are trying to do is continue during the work that we have been doing since 2015, and that is helping people. So if you can sponsor part, all, or a piece of the $150/mth to keep us in business for the next few months, please do so.
We also have had an amazing regular volunteer, Jackie Brown, who has been managing the weekly workdays to put kits together. After years of service, she is moving on to some much deserved rest and to enjoy her husband's retirement and their beautiful grandbabies! We will surely miss her, but we are so thankful for the many years of service and dedication that she gave to not only the organization but the entire community. We love you so much Jackie, and I ( Star) appreciate you from the very bottom of my heart.
Now with that being said, we are in need of one (or more) regular volunteers interested in taking on this responsibility. Which includes packing kits, getting them ready for distribution, keeping inventory of items on hand, accepting donations during workdays, and letting me know when we are running out of any of our hygiene items.
Lastly, we have a gas dryer in our large unit that we have not been able to find a place for. If you are reading this and can use it, please reach out. Also we are IN NEED OF an electric washer and dryer set.
