AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT AND MANAGEMENT OF EZLYNX / APPLIED SYSTEMS

WHY AM I STILL PAYING FOR INSURANCE SOFTWARE AFTER SELLING MY INSURANCE AGENCY?

My name is Fred Hughes, former owner of Hughes Independent Agency in Hoover, Alabama.

In June 2026, I sold my insurance agency and left the insurance business.

Despite no longer owning or operating an insurance agency, EZLynx / Applied Systems continues to charge me $145.65 every month for software I no longer need.

My bank records show a withdrawal of $145.65 by Applied Systems as recently as September 29, 2026.

I have requested cancellation of my contract, but I have been told that I must continue paying until June 2027.

THIS IS UNFAIR AND UNREASONABLE!

I understand that contracts are legally binding. However, I believe a company should have reasonable cancellation provisions when an independent insurance agent sells their agency or retires.

I AM REQUESTING THREE THINGS:

1. Immediate cancellation of my EZLynx contract.
2. A full refund of all payments collected since I sold my agency in June 2026.
3. Cancellation of all remaining monthly charges through June 2027.

At $145.65 per month, these charges represent a significant expense for software I no longer use.

I am asking the president and senior management of EZLynx and Applied Systems to personally review my situation and do what I believe is fair.

TO MY FELLOW INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENTS:

Before signing a long-term agreement with EZLynx, make sure you understand what happens if you sell your agency, retire, or close your business.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD NOT END WHEN A CUSTOMER SELLS THEIR BUSINESS!

I hope EZLynx / Applied Systems will reconsider its position, refund my payments, and release me from the remainder of this contract.
