We are so proud to celebrate UAB nurses during Nurses Week at UAB Hosptial , UAB Highlands Hospital, and UAB Kirkland Clinic today. We are sharing UAB Benevolent Fund resources for employees including Employee Emergency Assistance, Blazer Kitchen, and community resources many of which receive financial support through employee designations through the UAB Benevolent Fund. Thank you nurses for making a difference every day!

For this week's feature Friday, we wanted to highlight Gateway Family Solutions. was founded in 1891 by a group of visionary women and became Birmingham’s first health and human services agency. Before the child welfare system existed, they opened the city’s first orphanage to care for homeless children and mothers. For over 130 years, Gateway’s Board has carried on that legacy, continually adapting to meet the changing needs of Alabama families.

For our final Where's Blaze Wednesday, we're highlighting Did you know Railroad Park has been a gem of Birmingham since opening in September 2010? Proudly owned by the City of Birmingham, the park features water elements that makeup 30% of its landscape, including a stunning lake, the iconic Rain Curtain, wetlands, ponds, and streams.

A big thank you to Railroad Park for having Blaze. He had an amazing time and even made some new friends!

For this week's Where's Blaze Wednesday, we are excited to highlight United Ways Priority Veterans. They have helped over 4,000 veterans and their families with housing. Priority Veterans is an assistance program created through a grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that focuses on serving U.S. military veterans and their families who are homeless or at immediate risk of becoming homeless. It serves the entire state of Alabama, including Baldwin and Mobile counties, as well as Okaloosa, Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Walton counties in Florida.
